Touching down in Cebu felt like stepping into a completely different rhythm of life.
Warm air, soft ocean breezes and that unmistakable tropical energy instantly set the tone.
The welcome itself was nothing short of spectacular.
Guests were greeted with a beautifully curated, lantern-lit soirée on a private white-sand beach. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the scene came alive with glowing light, music and movement.
Exotic cocktails were poured, champagne flowed freely and an incredible spread of local and international cuisine was served.

During our time in Cebu, we stayed at the exceptional Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa.
Set along pristine white-sand beaches and surrounded by tropical gardens, the resort offered a perfect blend of luxury and natural beauty.

One of the most exciting aspects of this trip was the variety of transport.
From tuk-tuks navigating lively backstreets to private helicopters soaring above breathtaking landscapes, every journey between locations became part of the experience.
The helicopter flight to Bohol was a particular highlight.
Flying over the famous Chocolate Hills offered a completely unique perspective.
From above, the landscape appears almost surreal. Hundreds of perfectly rounded hills stretching into the distance, creating a natural pattern that feels almost designed.
Capturing this from the air required a different approach.
Fast shutter speeds, careful framing and an instinct for composition all come into play when shooting from a moving aircraft.
But when it works, the results are spectacular.
Encountering Rare Wildlife: The Philippine Tarsier
A visit to the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary was one of the most special wildlife moments of the trip.
Tarsiers are among the smallest primates in the world, known for their enormous eyes and delicate, almost otherworldly appearance.
They are incredibly shy and sensitive animals, which makes seeing them in their natural habitat a rare privilege.
Photographing them requires patience, respect and a quiet presence.
There is no rushing these moments.
It is about slowing down, observing and waiting for the right opportunity.
When that moment comes, it is incredibly rewarding.

Swimming with Whale Sharks: A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience
One of the defining highlights of our time in the Philippines was the journey to Oslob.
A scenic helicopter flight along the coastline revealed endless stretches of turquoise water and lush green landscapes before arriving at our destination.
Here, we had the opportunity to swim with whale sharks.
The world’s largest fish.
Despite their size, these incredible creatures are calm, gentle and almost mesmerising to be around.
Entering the water and seeing them up close is an experience that is hard to put into words.
At one point, four whale sharks were swimming around us.
Massive, graceful and completely unbothered by our presence.
From a photography perspective, this is both exhilarating and technically challenging.
Working in water, adjusting quickly to movement and light, and staying aware of your surroundings all require focus.
But the result is something truly special.
Images that capture not just the subject, but the feeling of the experience.
A Balance of Adventure and Relaxation
While many of the experiences were high-energy and adventurous, there was also space for relaxation.
Some guests chose to enjoy a round of golf on a beautifully manicured course nearby.
Others spent time at the spa, unwinding with treatments and enjoying the slower pace of island life.
