There are projects that quietly land in your inbox…
and then there are those that instantly make you pause.
Being commissioned by Agilité Solutions to photograph the flagship Paris store of Paris Saint-Germain on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées was very much the latter.
Set in one of the world’s most iconic cities, this was not simply a retail photography assignment. It was an opportunity to capture a space where global sport, fashion and culture intersect. A space designed not just for shopping, but for experience, immersion and connection.
For JL Creative, and for lead photographer Juliet on location in Paris, this project brought together everything we value in commercial interior photography. The scale of the environment, the precision of the fit out, the atmosphere created through light, material and movement, and most importantly, the story behind it all.
A Landmark Retail Experience in the Heart of Paris
Positioned opposite the Parc des Princes stadium, home of PSG, this flagship megastore is far more than a retail space.
It is an experience.
Spanning two floors, the store has been designed to immerse visitors in the world of Paris Saint-Germain. From the moment you step inside, there is a strong sense of movement and flow, guiding customers through a series of visually distinct zones.
Each space has its own feel. Its own energy. Its own story.
The ground floor immediately makes an impression, with soaring ceiling heights and an abundance of natural light pouring in through expansive windows. This openness creates a striking contrast with the more atmospheric, immersive areas throughout the store.
There is a deliberate rhythm to the design. A balance between light and shadow. Between structure and fluidity.
And from a photography perspective, that makes it incredibly compelling.
Design That Reflects a Global Brand
This is not just a shop. It is a physical extension of the PSG brand.
Known worldwide for players such as Kylian Mbappé, Neymar Jr and Lionel Messi, the club carries a powerful identity that blends sport, fashion and culture.
That identity is reflected throughout the store.
Key design features include:
- Industrial-inspired finishes with a modern, edgy aesthetic
- Large-scale digital screens showcasing match footage and brand content
- Neon lighting installations that add atmosphere and drama
- Interactive elements including holographic displays
- Personalisation stations where fans can customise their kits
The layout encourages exploration. Customers are drawn through the space, discovering different zones, textures and experiences as they move.
For JL Creative, the challenge was to capture all of this in a way that felt both cohesive and dynamic.

Award-Winning Design: Recognising Excellence
Projects of this calibre do not go unnoticed.
The design of the Paris Saint-Germain flagship store, led by Lotus United, has received significant industry recognition, celebrating its bold vision and exceptional execution within the retail design space.
This award-winning project stands as a benchmark for how sport, retail and immersive brand experience can be brought together in a single environment. From the dramatic spatial design to the integration of digital and interactive elements, every detail has been carefully considered to create a store that is not only visually striking but experientially engaging.
For Paris Saint-Germain, this flagship location represents far more than a retail presence. It is a statement of identity. A physical embodiment of a global brand that sits at the intersection of sport, culture and lifestyle.
And for the wider project team, including Agilité Solutions and retail partner Lids, the recognition is a testament to the level of collaboration, precision and creativity involved in bringing such a complex vision to life.
As a photographer, stepping into an award-winning space like this carries its own responsibility. To honour the design. To respect the intent. And to capture the details in a way that reflects the quality and ambition of the work.
The Journey Through the Space
One of the most striking aspects of this project was the customer journey.
This was not a static environment. It was designed to be experienced.
From wide, open areas filled with natural light to more intimate, darker sections illuminated by neon glow, the store constantly shifts in mood.
As a photographer, this requires a thoughtful approach.
Understanding:
- How people move through the space
- Where the key visual moments are
- How light changes from one area to the next
- Which details tell the strongest part of the story
It is about more than capturing a room.
It is about capturing how that room is felt.
Photographing Detail, Texture and Craftsmanship
High-end retail fit-outs are defined by their details, and this project had plenty to capture.
From the materials used in the flooring and walls to the precision of the joinery and installations, every element had been carefully considered and expertly executed.
Capturing this required a balance between:
- Wide, architectural shots that show the scale and layout
- Mid-range compositions that highlight flow and structure
- Close-up detail shots that showcase craftsmanship and materials
These detail images are particularly valuable for clients like Agilité Solutions, as they demonstrate the quality of delivery and the level of expertise involved in the project.
The Photography Approach & Equipment
For this shoot, Juliet worked with a carefully selected kit designed to handle both scale and detail.
Camera bodies:
- Canon R5 mirrorless
- Canon 5D Mark IV
Lenses:
- Canon 16–35mm f/2.8 wide-angle lens
- 50mm f/1.2 prime lens
- 24mmf/1.4 prime lens
The wide-angle lens was essential for capturing the full scale of the space, particularly on the ground floor where the height and openness were key features.
Meanwhile, the prime lenses allowed for more refined compositions, isolating details and creating a softer, more artistic feel and shallow depth of field where needed.
Working with Light: A Creative Challenge
Lighting played a huge role in this project.
Some areas were flooded with natural daylight, while others relied heavily on artificial and neon lighting to create atmosphere.
Rather than overpowering this with additional lighting, the approach was to work with what was already there.
This meant:
- Carefully balancing exposure across different zones
- Preserving the glow and character of neon installations
- Avoiding flat or overly corrected lighting
- Maintaining the authentic mood of each space
The result is imagery that feels true to the environment, capturing not just how the store looks, but how it feels to be inside it.
Why Brands Invest in High-End Interior Photography
For brands like PSG and delivery partners like Agilité Solutions, professional photography is not an afterthought.
It is an essential part of the project.
These images are used across:
- Marketing and brand campaigns
- Press and PR coverage
- Social media and digital platforms
- Internal presentations and reporting
- Bid and proposal documentation
They provide a lasting visual record of the work, showcasing both the design and the delivery.
And importantly, they help communicate the quality, scale and ambition of the project to future clients.
A Collaborative Effort: Bringing the Vision to Life
Projects of this scale and calibre are never the work of just one team.
What makes a flagship store like this truly exceptional is the collaboration between multiple specialists, each bringing their own expertise to the table to deliver a seamless, high-impact result.
Alongside the outstanding project delivery by Agilité Solutions, this project was shaped by a number of talented partners who helped bring the vision of Paris Saint-Germain to life.
The design direction, led by Lotus United, played a pivotal role in defining the look, feel and flow of the space. Their ability to blend sport, fashion and immersive retail experience is evident throughout the store, from the bold architectural features to the more intricate design details.
In collaboration with retail partner Lids, the store also successfully bridges the gap between global brand identity and commercial functionality, ensuring that the space is not only visually striking but also highly effective as a retail environment.
Behind the scenes, a network of specialist contractors, suppliers and makers contributed to the execution of the project. From bespoke joinery and lighting installations to digital displays and interactive features, each element reflects a high level of craftsmanship and coordination.
These collaborations are what transform a concept into a fully realised space.
And as a photographer, it is always a privilege to step into that final moment, capturing the combined effort of so many talented teams in one cohesive visual story.
It is this level of collaboration and attention to detail that makes projects like this so rewarding to photograph.

Paris: Where Design, Culture and Craft Converge
There are certain cities that elevate a project simply by being part of it, and Paris is unquestionably one of them.
Arriving via the Eurostar, stepping out into the rhythm of the city, and travelling through its streets on the Metro towards the shoot location feels like stepping into a film you already know and love. Everything carries a sense of intention, from the architecture to the light, to the movement of people through the streets. It is a city that understands composition instinctively.
Paris has a design language that extends naturally into its retail spaces.
Here, design is never just functional. It is expressive, considered, and layered with cultural nuance. Whether it is the symmetry of Haussmann façades, the quiet elegance of a café terrace, or the bold modernity of a flagship store, there is always a story being told.
For a project like this, photographing the Paris Saint-Germain flagship store in its home city adds an extra dimension. The energy of the brand is amplified by its surroundings, where football, fashion and Parisian culture blend effortlessly into something that feels both global and deeply rooted.
And then there are the simple pleasures that come with working here.
A morning espresso before heading to location.
The hum of the Metro beneath your feet.
Golden light catching the edges of the buildings as the day unfolds.
Paris does not just host the project. It becomes part of it.
A Standout Project for a Global Brand
This project was a joy to photograph.
A bold, beautifully designed retail space. A globally recognised brand. A fantastic team behind the scenes. And an opportunity to capture it all through a creative, thoughtful lens.
At JL Creative, we love working on projects like this.
Spaces with personality. Design with intention. Brands with a story to tell.

FAQs: Commercial Interior & Retail Photography
What makes flagship retail photography different from standard interior photography?
Flagship stores are designed to deliver an experience, not just display products.
This means the photography needs to capture:
- Flow and movement through the space
- Brand identity and storytelling
- Interactive elements and customer journey
- Atmosphere and lighting
It is a more layered, strategic approach that goes beyond simple documentation.
How do you photograph large retail environments effectively?
It comes down to planning, experience and lens choice.
Using wide-angle lenses to capture scale, combined with careful composition and positioning, allows us to showcase the full space without distortion.
At the same time, we ensure detail shots are included to highlight craftsmanship and design features.
What are the biggest challenges when photographing retail interiors?
Lighting is often the biggest challenge.
Balancing natural light with artificial sources, especially neon or feature lighting, requires a careful and considered approach.
Time can also be a factor, as shoots often take place in tight windows before store opening or after completion.
How are these images used by clients?
Clients use the images across a wide range of platforms, including marketing, PR, social media, internal documentation and future project bids.
A strong image library gives them flexibility and consistency in how they present their work.
Why choose JL Creative for commercial interior photography?
At JL Creative, we bring a combination of:
- Technical expertise in photographing interiors
- A strong eye for detail and composition
- An understanding of brand storytelling
