Every year, International Women’s Day creates an incredible buzz across London. Businesses, organisations, and leadership communities come together to celebrate the achievements of women, spark important conversations, and champion the next generation of female leaders.
As a London corporate photographer, International Women’s Day events are always some of my favourite assignments of the year. The energy in the room is electric. The conversations are inspiring. And the events themselves are often filled with powerful panel discussions, leadership insights, networking moments, and stories of resilience and ambition.
For me personally, International Women’s Day resonates deeply. As a female photographer working in the corporate events world for over 17 years, I have had the privilege of documenting extraordinary women, brilliant businesses, and inspiring leadership communities across London and beyond.
It really is such an honour not only documenting incredible ladies gathering together to celebrate success, courage, determination and consistency, but it’s hearing the stories of their challenges and vulnerability because life does throw curveballs and can be testing at the best of times.
Through my lens, I get to capture not just the moments that unfold on stage, but the connections, ideas, and energy that truly bring these events to life.

Photographing Corporate Events in London
London is one of the world’s most exciting cities for corporate events, summits, and leadership gatherings.
As a London corporate event photographer, I photograph a wide range of corporate events throughout the year including:
- Leadership summits
- Panel discussions and speaker events
- Networking evenings
- Industry conferences
- Corporate celebrations and parties
- Brand launches and professional gatherings
Many of these events are held in some of London’s most iconic venues. Over the years I have had the pleasure of photographing events at incredible locations including:
- Old Billingsgate
- The Waldorf
- The Landmark London
- The Brewery
- Tate Modern
- The Honourable Artillery Company
- KPMG Canary Wharf
- The Science Museum
- The RSA (Royal Society of Arts)
- The Shard
- The Fable
Each venue has its own personality, atmosphere and lighting challenges, and part of my job as an experienced corporate event photographer is knowing how to work with these environments to create vibrant, engaging imagery that tells the story of the event.
Capturing the Energy of International Women’s Day Events
International Women’s Day events often centre around leadership, empowerment, and connection.
Typically, these events include:
- Inspiring keynote speakers
- Panel discussions with industry leaders
- Networking sessions
- Leadership workshops
- Celebratory receptions
From a photography perspective, these events are wonderfully dynamic. I love honing in those real moments and capturing the action.
At one recent International Women’s Day summit at The Brewery, I captured a moment where the entire audience rose to applaud a speaker sharing her journey into leadership. It was a powerful reminder of why these events matter so much.
One moment I might be capturing a powerful keynote speaker on stage at The Brewery or the RSA, and the next I am documenting animated conversations between guests networking over coffee or drinks.
My approach is always to photograph events in a way that feels natural, vibrant, and authentic.
Rather than stiff or overly staged imagery, I focus on capturing:
- Genuine interactions
- Moments of laughter and connection
- Audience engagement
- The atmosphere in the room
- The personality of the speakers and guests
The result is a rich collection of images that truly reflects the energy and impact of the event.
A Photography Style That Feels Natural and Engaging
One of the things clients often tell me is that they love how natural the photos feel.
Corporate photography has a reputation for being quite stiff or overly formal, but that is never the style I aim for.
My photography approach is best described as:
- Vibrant
- Natural
- Engaging
- Relaxed
- Lifestyle-inspired
I want the images to feel alive.
Whether I am photographing a leadership summit at Old Billingsgate or a panel discussion at the Science Museum, my goal is always the same: to capture people at their best in a way that feels authentic and professional.
Often the most powerful images happen in the unscripted moments. A conversation between two attendees. A moment of applause after an inspiring talk. A speaker sharing a story that resonates with the audience.
Those are the moments that tell the real story of an event.
A Calm, Unobtrusive Approach Behind the Camera
One of the things clients often comment on is how unobtrusive my approach is when photographing events.
Corporate events are full of important conversations, meaningful moments and valuable networking opportunities, so the last thing anyone wants is a photographer who disrupts the flow of the room.
My aim is always to blend seamlessly into the environment.
I dress professionally and stylishly so I naturally fit the tone of the event, whether I’m photographing a leadership summit at The Shard, a networking reception at The Brewery, or a panel discussion at the Science Museum. This allows me to move around the room discreetly, capturing genuine interactions and authentic moments without drawing attention.
Many guests often say afterwards that they hardly noticed I was photographing at all, yet when they see the images they are delighted to discover how many great moments were captured.
That unobtrusive style is something I have refined over many years of photographing both corporate events and weddings. Both environments require a photographer who can read a room, anticipate moments, and capture people looking their best whether they are aware of the camera or not.
It’s a skill that comes from experience, observation, and an understanding of human connection.
Helping People Feel Comfortable in Front of the Camera
Another important part of my work is helping people feel relaxed in front of the camera.
Many of the professionals I photograph are not used to being photographed regularly. They might be CEOs, consultants, founders or speakers who are far more comfortable presenting on stage than posing for a photograph.
That is where my experience comes in.
Over the past 17 years I have developed a gentle, relaxed way of working that helps people feel completely at ease. I guide them through positioning and expressions in a natural way so that the final images feel effortless rather than forced.
This approach is particularly important for:
- Speaker portraits
- Leadership headshots
- Business lifestyle imagery
- Founder and executive profiles
The result is photography that reflects both professionalism and personality.
The Craft Behind the Camera: Equipment, Light and Technique
While people and moments are always the heart of great photography, the technical craft behind the camera also plays an important role in creating beautiful images.
I shoot with professional Canon cameras paired with high-end prime lenses, which allow me to work quickly and discreetly while producing exceptionally sharp and vibrant imagery.
Many of my favourite lenses are extremely fast, often shooting at a very low f-stop such as f1.2. This creates a beautiful depth of field where the subject is crisp and in perfect focus while the background falls into a soft blur. The result is an elegant, polished look that feels both professional and natural.
My cameras are also set to silent shooting mode, which is especially important during keynote speeches, panel discussions, or quiet moments during presentations. This allows me to capture images without distracting the speakers or the audience.
Lighting and angles are another key part of the craft. After 17 years behind the camera, I instinctively look for the most flattering light in a room and position people in ways that enhance the final image.
Whether photographing a CEO on stage, a group of professionals networking, or a leadership panel at Tate Modern, my aim is always the same: to create images that are both flattering and authentic.
It’s this combination of technical expertise, intuition, and attention to detail that allows me to consistently deliver photography my clients are proud to use and share.
Working with a Wide Range of Corporate Clients
Another thing I love about corporate photography is the incredible variety of clients I get to work with.
Over the years I have photographed for businesses across many different industries including:
- Professional services
- Marketing agencies
- Business coaches
- Fintech companies
- Technology firms
- Consultancy businesses
Every company has its own story, culture and personality, and part of my role as a photographer is understanding that story so I can reflect it in the imagery we create together.
Sometimes that means capturing the buzz of a large industry summit. Other times it involves creating relaxed business lifestyle portraits for a founder launching a new coaching business.
Either way, the aim is always to create imagery that clients are proud to share across their website, marketing and social media.
International Women’s Day from a Female Photographer’s Perspective
International Women’s Day has always been a moment that resonates deeply with me.
Photography, particularly in the corporate and commercial world, has historically been a male-dominated industry. Over the years I have worked incredibly hard to build my career and develop my style, and I feel very grateful to now be working with such wonderful clients across London and internationally.
Being a female photographer brings a perspective that I believe adds something unique to my work.
Attention to detail, emotional awareness, and a sense of connection with the people I photograph all play an important role in how I approach each assignment.
I love bringing a sense of feminine energy and finesse into what can often be quite a masculine corporate environment.
International Women’s Day is a reminder of the resilience, courage and tenacity of the women who have come before us and those who are shaping the future today.
Many of the women I photograph at these events are leaders, founders, executives and innovators who are making a real impact in their industries. It is always an honour to document those moments and celebrate their achievements through photography.
Beyond Events: Headshots, Lifestyle Photography and Video
While corporate events are a big part of what I do, many clients also work with me for other types of business photography.
These include:
- Business headshots
- Leadership portraits
- Business lifestyle photography
- Personal branding shoots
- Team photography
Increasingly, clients are also looking for video content to complement their photography, so I also offer short video highlights that capture the atmosphere and key moments from events.
Another fun addition that works brilliantly at many corporate events is the Boomerang Booth, a digital photo booth that creates instant shareable moments for guests.
It is always wonderful to see how much guests enjoy interacting with it and sharing the images across social media.
Creating Imagery That Businesses Love to Share
At the end of the day, the goal of corporate photography is not simply to document an event.
It is to create imagery that businesses genuinely love using.
Great event photography helps organisations:
- Showcase their brand and culture
- Promote future events
- Share thought leadership
- Celebrate their teams
- Engage audiences online
When clients receive their final gallery, I want them to feel excited about the images and proud to share them.
Looking Ahead
After 17 years as a professional photographer, I can honestly say I love my work now more than ever.
Every event brings new people, new ideas and new stories to capture. International Women’s Day events in particular always remind me how powerful it is when people come together to celebrate leadership, progress and possibility.
If you are planning an International Women’s Day event, leadership summit, or corporate gathering in London and would like vibrant, engaging photography that truly captures the energy of the occasion, I would love to hear from you.
